Thank you for your interest in Southern Nevada School of Real Estate.

Below is our school catalog which outlines the live classroom. Courses are also available by correspondence or on-line. We will be happy to take a reservation and guarantee that a seat will be available on the first day of class. Classes will normally fill about a week to 10 days before the first day of each session. The reservation deposit is $100 which will be credited to your tuition. It will also entitle you to a notebook immediately so that you can get a head start on the reading. Notice that your tuition (which is $449 after your early enrollment discount) includes your tuition, books and materials, a four session crash course and two hours of private consultation with the instructor to discuss anything you wish regarding the class, real estate or career opportunities.

Real Estate Principles, Practices and Procedures - 90 Hours
90 Hour Course schedule

The basic pre-licensing course designed to prepare candidates for the Nevada real estate licensing examination. Topics include: Real Estate Agency, Valuation, Finance and Law which are required on the national portion of the examination. The preparation for the state portion includes NRS 645, 119, 119A, 119B and relevant regulations.

This course is in a 4-week format. The sessions are all day from 9:00 to 4:30 with 1 1/2 hours for lunch taught Monday through Thursday.

Real Estate Law and Ethics - 45 Hours
45 Hour Course schedule

Designed for those individuals who have partially met the educational requirements for an original salesperson's license in Nevada with courses from another state. Topics include: Real Estate Law which is required on the national portion of the examination and NRS 645, 119, 119A, 119B and relevant regulations in preparation for the state portion. This course is 45 hours and will be taught as the last 18 classroom meetings of Real Estate Principles, Practices and Procedures.

Nevada State Real Estate Law and Regulations - 18 Hours
18 Hour Course schedule

Designed for those individuals who have met the educational requirements for an original broker or salesperson's license in Nevada with courses from another state. These candidates are required to have 18 classroom hours of Nevada License Law. This requirement in preparation for the state portion of the examination includes NRS 645, 119, 119A, 119B and their relevant regulations. This course is 18 hours and is taught as the last six meetings of Real Estate Principles, Practices and Procedures.

Certificates of Completion
Upon satisfactory completion of any course the student will receive a certificate reflecting the completion of the course to satisfy the Nevada Real Estate Division requirements. Unfortunately no credit can be given by Southern Nevada School of Real Estate for attending another school.

In the Sahara West Shopping Center on the Southeast corner of Sahara and Valley View.

The setting is comfortable in 1,200 square foot classrooms which seat 60 students. The instruction is in lecture format with opportunity during class for questions and answers. All lecture notes will appear on a projection screen. The school has ample parking and complimentary coffee. Smoking is not permitted in the Southern Nevada School of Real Estate classroom.

Schedule of Classes
Course work may begin any Monday with the exception of the crash course and review. We encourage the students to begin their course work according to the schedule insert. Tuition is valid for one year from the date of the contract.

Entrance Requirements
Students must be 17 years of age or older.

School Standards
Students will be given a series of examinations in the same style and format as the actual licensing examination which they will be taking upon completion of the course. Each examination will be given, graded and reviewed with the class as each major topic is covered. A minimum grade of 65% is considered satisfactory. If a student does not meet the minimum grade of 65% he or she is required to review the material and retest again in one week. This will continue until they do meet an average score of 65% and we will not be certifying or charging the VA for additional testing. Southern Nevada School of Real Estate is approved for Veterans education benefits.

Attendance
Attendance in class is required. Attendance is required and no absences are allowed or certification will not be given unless the absence is made up in a subsequent session or in private sessions to insure mastery of missed material.

Conduct
If, in the opinion of the instructor, a student is disruptive or distracting the class in a way that interferes with class activities, the instructor may remove the student for the remainder of that class that day. One such removal shall constitute sufficient cause that the student be barred from all remaining classes that session. Disruptive and distracting behavior shall be determined by the instructor in his or her singular discretion.

Tuition includes necessary books and materials. Payment is required in full by the first day of class.

Early Enrollment Discount
$50 available to all students enrolling in the 90 hour course before the first day of class. This makes the net cost only $449. $50 available to all students enrolling in the 45 hour course before the first day of class. This makes the net cost only $249 on this class.

Licensing of School
Southern Nevada School of Real Estate is licensed by the Nevada Commission on Postsecondary Education and accredited by the Nevada Real Estate Commission. Our 90 hour principles course is approved by the California DRE as Real Estate Principles (1210-90). Faculty: Randall S. van Reken, Valerie Farrer, Gordon R. Lecks, and Robin Alonso. Refund Policy
Refund requests received in writing (not postmarked or telephoned) by the school during the first 40% of the course shall be prorated based on the portion of the course completed as of the date of the written refund request less $50 for the materials ($449 $50 = $399 tuition). If all materials are returned in good condition this $50 retention shall be waived at the discretion of Southern Nevada School of Real Estate. There will be no refund after 40% of the course (session 12). If Southern Nevada School of Real Estate is unable for any reason to complete the course, a refund of all fees will be made.

Example: Jack enrolls in our 90 hour, $449 program ($399 tuition and $50 materials), and cancels his enrollment after attending 21 hours. Jack attended 23% of the program (21 ÷ 90 hrs = 23%), and his refund would be calculated as follows:
         Tuition:               $399.00
         $349 x 23%             - 91.77
         Refund to Jack         $307.23
Placement Service
There is no formal placement service offered at this time. Broker recruiting of the class is scheduled during the state law portion of the course.
